Zee Avi (Kokokaina), Stylustiks, Joe Flizzow, Yuna, Goldfish and Arabyrd will be up on stage all damn day from 2pm onwards, and there's a ton of shit for you to do and buy too. The Rebel Scum @ X-Gig 3 (video)
I found this video of our performance earlier last month on Dina X-Fresh's blog (proof of my super albeit delayed stalkage skills). In this one we were performing Bakdatang with SSK. CHECKEDOUT SONN. Props Dina for the footage.
Some Rogue Squadron News/Updates
Rogue Squadron were featured in this month's JUICE which is a hip hop issue. Other prominent crews in Malaysia were also included in the massive writeup.
..and check out our PICS from the photo shoot for the mag by Ili FM and WordsManifest. (you gotta admit, my kicks are the shiznit!).
RS members DJ Layzr and DJ Intake both placed #2 and #3 respectively in Malaysia DMC with DJ Ceza of Ahli Fiqr and The Stylustiks claiming first place.
-_- MIXTAPZ is now available for download online!
About two months ago, 65&hope chief Fazli a.k.a. Freaky Z came down from SG to visit KL. He also presented to us the award trophy for Favourite Overseas Act @ Hope Award since we were all too broke (or MY style lazy) to go to SG again to receive it. Thank you mr freeky. THIS PIC IS PROOF OF THAT BTW. And you can also check out us chillin' with him and homies and all that in the same album where that pic came from.
Lastly, DON'T FORGET TO JOIN OUR FACEBOOK GROOP!
Peace out homie.

Bakdatang Premiere @ 8TV Quickie (video)
Incase you guys missed the show yesterday, you can go HERE to view it. Thanks a lot to Rina Omar and 8TV for debuting Bakdatang music video on mainstream TV, and at the same time giving away Manusia singles and DASH UNDERSCORE DASH t-shirts. It was dope, especially as it coincided with the night of the Euro 2008 final in which Spain whooped some German ass. Okay I'm exaggerating but you know the Germans always win everything since they're all cyborg ubermensches and all that but the Spanish went against all robotic odds and it is another triumph for humans in football! Haha. Anyway, yeah it's dope to watch yourself do funny faces on TV, thanks 8TV!

Family Affair II rawked dewd
Family Affairs II was mad dope!
It was only TRS' third time in SG, but this time we brought the whole squad widdus. The lineup wuz: DJ Intake reppin' Headshell Heroes on the decks, Familyboy, Schizzow, Enemyze, Jin Hackman, SSK, and us fcourse.
You can find good reviews of it on Schizzow's multiply blog and Lady D's myspace blog. And pics here by Mr 36 who was the official photographer.
It was a very good gig. The venue was really classy, much classier than the last one although it was still in the same building. Some sound issues but hey, we're from MY, we're not complaining, we've had much worse fah sho'.
Props to Freaky Z though. He kept his promise, and worked real hard to get Rogue Squadron there (dewd, the rogue dewds were amazed at how funny and energetic he is). I hope we did put out a decent show. The crowd is dope as expected, the vibe with these 65&hope shows is that the crowd is chilled out but they actually try to enjoy your music and listen to whatever you're spitting.
Thank you and mad respect to everyone from SG, 65&hope most def, and all you XS dewds who helped take care of the gig and us (too many to name tapi aku ingat ah nama korang seh). The performers - dem Proteges, Dome Squad Clique (brrrahhhhhhhhhh!), Feekee'D + Chaz Ali + Nizmatic Jin (Da Fam), Bless (XS) + bass player + guitar player, Doggface + Chavito + The Ish (XS), Public Eyez (XS), and MY compats Dose Two. Not forgetting TMA members, dah lama siot tak jumpa orang-orang tua (Corrupt Ethics), you guys are like SG usses nameen.
And all the thanks in the world for our close friends who followed us here especially Ili who took care of all of us, Deena tha managah, and all the girlfrenzez.
Personally I thought this one was much better than the first installment cause I got to perform with the rogue assholes wakhuukgwahukgaea. I kinda missed our first two gigs. But like I said to Freaky Z, this was loike our first 'hip hop' gig as RS.
Anyway, hope to see you SG dewds and dewdettes again some other time aight. We really really really fucking enjoyed it!
Oh and, if you noticed some rogue dewds are wearing those dash underscore dash first edition t-shirts. You want some? Get at us:

Manusia Lyrics
[Intro]
Manusia
Manusia
Manusia
[MicWreck]
Aku jahil, dan ia timbul daripada kebangkitan
Isu-isu semasa yang masih tiada jalan
Penyelesaian, diselesaikan
Dengan perjumpaan perbincangan dan bersalaman sahaja
[WordsManifest]
Tak guna merintihkan, insan kemelesetan
Manusia merebut kuasa hingga kesempitan
Lagi kejahatan kebas kesesatan
Kita semua hilang peluang bila rampas kesempatan
[hqa]
Kerosakan dilakukan tanpa fikir lebih sekali
Tapi itulah realiti bende dah jadi
[Illson]
Pedih sekali sedih tak jelas tak nampak
Dah takde hitam putih keliru dan semak
[hqa] Siapa hero siapa penyangak?
[Illson] Aku pun tak tahu
[hqa] "Polis Dunia" lagak mulia,
[Illson] Tapi macam hantu
[hqa]
Pastu satu-satu tanah orang dia buat atuk
Macam bapak dia punya, macam dah kena rasuk
[Chorus]
Manusia
Jawapannya pada kita
Manusia
Sesama kita derita
Manusia
Lupa pada Maha Esa
Manusia
Kan kembali kepada-Nya
[Illson] Baik buruk manusia
[MicWreck] Yang dipuji dipuja
[Illson] Hidup mati di dunia
[MicWreck] Tiada siapa berbeza
[Illson] Ketenangan dalam kegelapan aku anggapkan
[MicWreck] Umpama nafsu diri dihimpit kehasutan
[Illson] Kehausan cinta?
[hqa] Itu memang buta
[Illson] Apa yang nak jadi?
[WordsManifest] Jangan asyik nak main gila
[hqa] Ikut suka engkau
[Illson]
Bergurindam bila dah senang
Bila bala menimpa semuanya akan terbenam
[hqa]
Adakah tak, perlu lagi hasutan
Dah tentu serabut dan, manusia kan takutkan
[WordsManifest]
Kesempitan dunia
[hqa]
Takutkan bende yang tak sepatutnya
[WordsManifest]
Tak perlu kerja lagi setan hanya duduk selesa
[hqa]
Lihat saja kita hancur diri sendiri
[WordsManifest]
Sambil ia tunggu dirinya kembali pada api
[hqa]
Mudah sekali, sudah sebati
[WordsManifest]
Menjadi sebahagian diri manusia yang berciri lemah ini
[Chorus]
Manusia
Jawapannya pada kita
Manusia
Sesama kita derita
Manusia
Lupa pada Maha Esa
Manusia
Kan kembali kepada-Nya
[Outro]

TRS & RS @ SG?
This is just a heads up, we might be performing at Singapore next month (17th) for the second installment of the Family Affairs gig (TRS were guests for last year). This time I think we're headlining as Rogue Squadron.
Most of the rogue dewds are gonna be heading south for sho', especially those about to be releasing shit this year.
So just look out for the gig. I'll have the confirmation and hopefully flyers up when the time comes.

KL Undercover 2, The Roots@KL!, Rogue Squadron's mixtapz update
KL Undercover 2 last wednesday was pretty crazy. From TRS, me, WordsManifest, and Cliq attended. DJ Nesh with Vandal emceein' and Altimet with Loud & Clear emceein' rocked the decks. And it's pretty cool that they switched every hour or so cause I thought I had missed Altimet's set as I came a bit late. The house wasn't full or anything but I think most of the main dudes and dudettes of hip hop came. Some rogue boys deffo came. This one was set in The W and there was a cover charge but the sound was much better than the last one.
Weirdly enough the shit got extra wild way late into the early morning, I think it started when Nesh played Soul of Mischief's 93 till infinity. For some reason it sparked something and shit just went crayzeyh. When it switched to Altimet he maintained the energy. I think they pretty much covered most of the best songs from the golden era. It was fucking crazy. Although there wasn't a big crowd but everybody was really into it. Major props to Kevin, I think the gig is picking up slowly and hopefully one day will get propah big cause I bet it could be really significant to the hip hop scene's ressurection. Being a newb I was never part of the more vibrant hip hop scene back in the days so I'm really excited for the future. Oh and Nesh played bakdatang too, haha that was pretty cool, it was also nice of Vandal to pass the mic to me so I could hype the track up. Both DJs actually played a lotta local tracks and that's just great really.
We also managed to pass some -_- mixtapz. The next -_- distribution should probably be at DJ Fuzz's Mixology 2 Launch on the 24th of April.
So dewds and dewdettes, do come for the next KL Undercover aight?. It's mad fun fuh reel.
Here are some pics taken by Ili.
..
Now we're gonna go a bit further back. This has gotta be mentioned since I think it's one important moment in local hip hop history. The Roots! Yeah they came down for Sunburst 2008 and they were mad dope sick ill shit crazy fucking heaven-bent orgasm and the crowd was crazy too. One of the best parts was when they played 'you got me' and a long ass solo section ensued. I know we've all heard and love the 'you got me' live version with Jill Scott that had a long ass ending as well but this was way longer than expected, yet it was spellbinding throughout. There was a drum and percussion solo part which was dope but I've seen it in a video once. And there was also that part when Black Thought kept rhyming endlessly at a furious pace and we emcees were just looking at each other going like 'we got pwned'. As the tradition goes with The Roots there's been a lotta lineup changes but it hasn't taken anything away from their superiority on-stage.
Ili who took care of them told me they really loved the KL crowd. Props to us then! A lotta hip hop dudes I haven't seen in a while came too, I think they must've waited nearly a decade for this, daym. Hip hop heads really went mental, jumping and throwing hands and rapping and singing along and all that. That was dope. All of us came except Cliq who was not feeling well and was really probably pissed off at the viruses that day. Well no worries, since the KL crowd did a really good job I think they might wanna come back some day. Hopefully in the future, for a show exclusively just The Roots and they can do a much longer set. And we can be nearer to them. No homo. Lolwoot.
Sunburst 2008 overall was dope but I personally was just looking forward to and checking out The Roots and George Clinton & P-funk. George Clinton's set was dope (and unique) too fyi.
Here are some pics taken by WordsManifest. And here are some taken by Ili.

Rogue Squadron -_- MIXTAPZ
As you know we started this big ass crew Rogue Squadron right. In 2005 right. Now RS has grown and grown and out comes the first mixtape, or as we prefer to call it, MIXTAPZ. It features some remixes, some singles from upcoming releases, some unreleased singles, and some just fuck around in a mixtape songs. It's dope, I've listened to it thousands of times d lolwut.
TRS involvement includes including our single bakdatang, two solo solely-for-mixtapz joints from me and WordsManifest, some remixes by Micwreck, and production or feature emceeing duties on some other songs.
We're gonna give it for free at the Unity Concert tonight. And uh a few more upcoming hip hop gigs around KL. We'll consider net release later on tho. Right.
Look out for it aight.

KL Undercover and Resistiv3's Back2Back Sessions (aftermath)
Aight. Regarding two urban gigs some of us were involved in and I managed to attend.
First was KL Undercover, a bit trouble finding the place as we bumped into the restaurant first but the usher quickly ushered us off to the club round the back. Cliq played his first ever full mixset, seriously dude didn't sleep the night before practicing his styluses off.
I've gotten a preview of the set beforehand so I knew what it is. He started slow with the jazzy soulful ish and made his way up to the bumpers and then on to the hype ones. It was pretty dope especially for a first-timer, he also used the MPD a lot for sound effects which was pretty cool. The crowd was slowly getting into it but since this is a very rare occasion it might take a few gigs before the party really starts.
Then CZA took over and he went straight to the good old boom bap with some really sharp mixing. Really dope. Apologies to him though cause some of us left way too early into his set. Yang Ariff was emceeing for him (with Vice Versa joining him later on). Me and WordsManifest did for Cliq.
It was a modest gig with very good intentions to bring back hip hop and r&b into the scene. Props to organizer Kevin. I hope this series of gigs will achieve what Kevin hopes to cause if it does we will all benefit a whole lot from it. Pics here by Ili.
Next up was just this weekend, Resistiv3's Back2Back Sessions. It was done at Palate Palette (hope I got that right). The organizers brought along two big ass subwoofers this time since this is dnb afterall. Tubby started the party nicely with low tempo'ed beats, something to warm you up and get your heads nodding for a while. Perez was handling the vids and had some dope Borat and Kesatria Baja Hitam footages while Cliq did all the scratching (and got Headshell Heroes members to cameo). After Tubby departed Anowl, MH, and Mac took to the mixing duties. They did their usual crazy shit, it was perfect to get the crowd hyped and ready for Kain. And then finally the highlight of the night himself came up and shot down the whole place like he was Scarface. Machine gun shit.
You could say it was like one of those perfect dnb nights, with everybody just moving their bodies and shouting and having a good time. The DJs enjoying themselves playing the tunes they wanna play with no restrictions. And the speakers surviving the night's heavy pounding sonic onslaught (it had to with these mindbending dj's performing). Pics here by Ili.

Resistiv3 Presents: Back2Back Sessions
"Resistiv3's inaugural show will be held on the 1st of March 2008 at Palate Palette, Kuala Lumpur. This free performance starts at 9p.m., featuring acts like Kain (of Ohm Resistance), Mac, Anowl, MH, DJ Cliq, Wordsmanifest, Chi-Pulp and Tubby. Visuals will be provided by Perez Old Skool."
It's a promising movement by these hardcore junglists for dnb, hip hop, and the underground scene as a whole. We're definitely gonna be working a lot more with them in the future.
For more info about Resistiv3 and this show, head on to THIS thread in the forum.

KL Undercover : Cliq, DJ Cza, and Yang Ariff
Yeah, it's the first gig organized by Kevin. If you wanna get more info or directions to where who what location go bug him.
It's gonna feature two DJs with a more 'hip hop' selection and one of the dopest emcees ever in Malaysia Yang Ariff of KLG Sqwad.
I Heard DJ CZA is gonna spin shit like 9th Wonder and J Dilla and more 'banned-from-clubs' stuff. Good shit. I know some of what Cliq is gonna spin and it's gonna be dope. This is gonna be a sick night for sho so come. Come. Cum. Yeh. Yah. Sick. Sick. Fuhreel.

The Resistance has moved!
The Resistance has been our forum since I don't know when. But now it's moving to a new address and new script. Back then I used Invision script which was free but along the way became a commercial product and I was unable to update or add new mods thus leaving it with a lot of unfixed errors, outdated features, and security issues especially with the rise of forum spambots. That made it hard for new users to get in and we want new users. So now I'm changing to PHPBB2 which is fully open-source and very popular. And it comes with my new domain too.
Plus we want it to break free from being a TRS forum. Now we're making it more generally a hip hop + music + whatevarr forum with a little bit of focus on our family Rogue Squadron and dnb crew 3 of us are involved in - The Works. I might even consider giving some other crews a bit of space in it too just to make it a bigger forum.
The more the merrier. I mean the internet is all we have now. Funny when the scene was still alive the internet was livelier than now. We actually need it now more than ever, really.
And we need more beefs too, nothing gets a forum running better than beef. Controversy, bitches.
And lastly, I hope the Souljah Boy tell 'em banner works magic.

All In The Family
Yesterday night scumbags and a buncha rogues went to Streething's All In The Family thingy.
Moar pics by Schizzow.
There were skate demos, fashion shows, and live art. Vandal performed some of his songs and a lot of freestyle (he even invited Altimet and WordsManifest to come up on stage for a set). Bearbricks gallery was up including ours designed by Cliq.
Best part was that we got interviewed by Altimet outside (while waiting for the entrance to allow entrance) for his show Holla (or is it Holler?).
YAAARGKHHH. I don't know if ours and Rogues' part were gonna be aired cause it was pretty YAAAHH. BEBABADABAAA. But hopefully it does. Kay? Kayyyyyyyyyy.

testing testing testing
Hi. I am hqa. Haha. I have just changed the format of this website. Bear with me as I try to complete its development. All the graphics are just temporary as we'll come up with some actual and doper stuff for it. I'm still trying to fill in all content. I changed to this format so it would be easily updated, and I could put all kinds of stuff especially on the sidebar unlike the old one where it's all html-ly and old school and so hard to update ergh.
Don't forget to join our Facebook group too. YAAH TRICK YAARGH.
