Newspaper / magazine appearances 2004-2006

(Click on images for larger view)

Junk November 2006
"The Rebel Scum - lowly, humble creatures are we - were given some exposure in new music mag Junk's 2nd issue. Not only were we asked what our favourite essential hip hop albums are (i was going to list them here, but nah. go la buy/steal/photocopy the issue), we were ALSO included in JUNK 02, the magazine's monthly mix CD, compiled by Aging Youth Singapore's Willy Tan. The TRS song Willy settled on was Outside The Club (Defenders of The Universe). We thought no one heard that track when we posted it up online a couple of years ago, but Willy is a fan of it. cool points for him, and cool points for us for having a fan like him. cool overload." - WordsManifest

Cliq in Juice November 2006
"Cliq got his well-deserved props in this month's issue of JUICE Magazine:

Cliq came out tops in the Malaysian DJ Battle 2006. He won first place in the Scratching and Overall Battle categories, and walked away with a kickass Rane mixer (they cost a lot) monitor headphones, and a shitload of street cred. Don't mess - he's a champion.

Congratulations, hanif!"

JUICE's Best of 2005!
"mad props go out to JUICE Editor April Kuan for including us in the annual listing... nak menangis pun ada

we were listed as one of 2005's best local albums alongside Nicky C, Hypercubes, Ahli Fiqir and Seven Collar T-Shirt"
- WordsManifest

ROTTW December 2005
"Props to Abang Rom and Fai for giving us some ROTTW press, they've also mentioned us in a lot of other small articles including the latest one documenting our progress so far" - hqa

Revolution May 2005
"i don't get it. out of all the TRS members, yanto's the only one who ever skated. so apasal kitorang nak kena posing amik gambar sekali? biar la yanto buat crooked grind ke... noseblunt half-cab ke... pop shuvit ke...

props go out to adam from urban revolution, riaz for the photos, saint cinnamon and haizan for the words, and yz international for the publicity hookup. oh and to KTM for not kicking us out heheh"
- WordsManifest

Juice May 2005
"we were all surprised with this issue. not only was our article in here, we shared the same JUICE issue as Definitive Jux and DJ Krush. so yeah, get this issue (it's free, ya dig?) fuck the TRS article, and read the articles about Def Jux and Krush. ya heard.

mad props goes out to tania for talking to us and asking us some really provocative questions, april for wanting to have something written about us, and yz international for the press hookup."
- WordsManifest

NST April 2005
"thanks to Foong Kah Chun, the New Straits Times Press and YZ International for having us interviewed. who'da thunk nerds would get this much attention for not wearing baggy pants?" - WordsManifest

KLUE April 2005
"Adlin interviewed us at KL Sentral I think haha, thanks yo, and he found a very flattering way to describe our EP's sound as well (we agree in a blushing kind of way). Thanks to YZ for the hookup too." - hqa

Malay Mail March 2005

"After YZ hooked us up, Adly brought us up to his office and turned on his recorder. We had a long, dope chat with him about a lot of things. And we were surprised when all that turned out into a big ass two page article, this is probably the largest print press we've got. He has also continued to update Malay Mail readers including about the Bakdatang single. Props." - hqa

FHM July 2004

"interview zaman dahulu kala. mad props to john lim for interviewing us, and manissa and syko g of the groove syndicate for hooking it up." - WordsManifest
